How long have you attended Wright Christian Academy?
I have attended WCA for 12 years.
What will you remember most from your time here at Wright Christian Academy?
I will remember the close relationships with my class, other classes, and teachers, as well as the team building in sports. I have always been happy to play volleyball and soccer because of how kind and supportive everyone is on and off the team. I will remember teachers pushing me to give my best work, always being helpful when I have questions.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself earning my education degree at NSU to teach high school anatomy and physiology. During this time, I plan on working a part-time job, and hopefully substituting for different schools to get teaching experience.
What advice would you give to the incoming Freshman class entering high school for the first time?
High school can actually be fun! The typical movie presents high school as a prison with bad food and bullies behind the corner, but it doesn’t have to be like that. If you put effort into your relationships with your classmates and upperclassmen, school life isn’t so bad! There’s been days I would come to school early just to talk with people, and it would help me grow closer with individual friends and the community as a whole. Your attitude about school is a game changer; you have to go—it’s the law—so it is up to you whether you look at the bright side or not.
My other piece of advice is to get off that little addicting, shiny, bright piece of technology… yes, your phone… and look up and talk to people! There is more to life than social media. You have people directly in front of you who you could build friendships with. That instagram post can wait, I promise. That snap will disappear and everyone will forget about it. But what won’t be forgotten are the friendships built that can last a lifetime and the impact you had on others. Look up, my friends! 🙂
