Meet Mrs. Cheri Reeves

Name:

Mrs. Reeves (formerly Ms. Fisher)

What is your teaching assignment at Wright?

Glorious 3rd Grade!

Education:

I obtained my undergrad in Marketing at OCU (Okla. City Univ.) and my Master’s in Elementary Education at FSU (Florida State Univ.).

What brought you to Wright?

I attended many sporting events along with Christmas & Spring programs over the years and noticed right away how friendly and close knit the parents and student body were. When I heard a Third Grade position became available I jumped at the chance to become a part of this wonderful family & community. The staff & administration are very supportive & always encouraging. I also enjoy the friendships that have formed with the parents of my students.

What was your first-ever job?

I had two-first jobs. One was at Arthur Treacher’s Fish & Chips”. I worked there after school then I worked at a movie theater on the weekends.

What do you do in your spare time/special interests/hobbies?

I enjoy volunteering for various organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Night Light Tulsa and going on mission trips. I have been to Africa three times and Thailand once.

I like to do anything that is outdoors – gardening, hiking, fishing, picnicking, etc. I also enjoy cooking and baking. I watch a lot of cooking shows. J

Guiding scripture of spiritual thought:

My favorite scripture is Philippians 2:3-4 and I try to instill this in my students.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

What else do you want the WCA Community to know about you?

I have three children. My daughter, Reagan, is a NICU nurse at Hillcrest Hospital and recently got married. My son, Zach, is a certified Paramedic & is pursuing a career as a First Responder. He also helped build The Gathering Place from the ground up. My “Bonus Daughter” is sweet Skyler Reeves who is in the 9th grade here!
